Equestrians ready for show as arena beckons Joyce Widner, 67, has been competing in the Arizona Sun Country Circuit quarter horse competition almost as long as Chantz Stewart has been alive. Chantz, 11, is just beginning her equestrian career. Both will compete with 1,600 other equestrians beginning Friday in one of the largest quarter horse shows in the United States. Posse golf benefit set for this weekend ANTHEM – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office posse in Anthem has expanded to an independent Sheriff’s Posse of Anthem, separate from the Executive Posse under which it was originally formed. The group, which is not supported by tax dollars, is raising funds for a building program with a charity golf tournament at Anthem Country Club. The Rotary Club in the master-planned community is organizing the event, according to Larry Evans, a spokesman for the Rotary.
