WMICentral: WHITERIVER - Lost, stolen or strayed, more than $13 million in U.S. taxpayers' money seems to have been misplaced on the Fort Apache Reservation. After four years of alleged noncompliance with federal '638 contracts, former Superintendent Ben Nuvamsa requested a Bill of Collection Action from the National Business Center on Dec. 9, 2004. The memorandum asked for the collection of over $9.395 million owed to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) by the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
