I always feel good when I hear or read the name John A. Solheim

It's honors like this that make that happen...
Thunderbirds honor PING with Partnership Award The Thunderbirds, the hosts and charitable arm of the FBR Open, have presented the third annual Partnership Award to PING and its chairman and chief executive, John A. Solheim. The award ceremony was held Tuesday evening at the annual FBR Opening Dinner. The Partnership Award honors Phoenix-based PING for its support of the Thunderbirds and the once-named Phoenix Open since the late 1960s. From the time when PING purchased its first Greenskeeper pass in 1969, the company has also donated numerous sets of golf clubs and golf equipment and provided financial support to Thunderbirds Charities. PING has also sponsored golfers such as Mark Calcavecchia, Bob Gilder and Chris DiMarco. Past Partnership Award recipients include the City of Scottsdale and Ben Nelson of the PGA Tour.
