One giant step for the Parents

One tiny setback for the vending machine industry.
A bill that would ban candy, gum and soft-drink sales during the school day passed a second big hurdle Wednesday when it got the nod from the House Health Committee. It still must go through the House Rules Committee and win approval by the full House and Senate. [azcentral.com | news]
Update:
High schools are back in proposed legislation to prohibit the sale of so-called junk food in Arizona public schools. The House Health Committee voted 7-2 Wednesday for House Bill 2544, which would require schools to replace sugar- and fat-laden foods such as candy and soft drinks with healthier fare.
