It's like this... we pay for it now or we pay for it later. It seems less painful if we pay up front; for everyone involved.
Study: Nearly half of bankruptcies caused by medical problems
Medical problems contributed to about half of all personal bankruptcies in 2001, according to a national study being released Wednesday. The study, which was done by researchers at Harvard Law School and Harvard Medical School, is the first in-depth study of medical causes of bankruptcy.
