Happy Statehood Day!

On Feb. 14, 1912 Arizona became the 48th state in the Union. Statehood had been delayed after Arizona's consitiution had been rejected in January of 1912 because of a Judicial Recall Clause. The first thing Arizona did after getting Statehood was to make a constitutional ammendment to add back the Judicial Recall. Barry Goldwater was there on the day Arizona became officially recognized. The state bird is the Cactus Wren. The state flower is the blossom of the Sagurao Cactus (which should be blooming any time now). Unfortunately our state tie is the Bolo Tie. More Arizona Trivia as the day continues.
